Village Green

The village green is central to Chipping and provides visual interest as well as a source of nectar and pollen throughout the year.

The Village Green has year-round interest and a growing selection of specimen trees. A commemorative stone was added to the large ‘Bee and Butterfly Bed’ to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth 2.  This was provided by the Parish Council and funded through a grant.  Plants have been added to complement this as well as to continue to attract pollinators throughout the year.

Our displays aim to reflect the countryside around Chipping, so we use natural materials and plants suited to this where possible.  The summer community planting theme brings different planting areas of the village together, as well as encouraging residents and businesses to get involved.
