Horticultural maintenance

Weeding, pruning and tidying of planted areas throughout the village is a big part of our work throughout the year. In the summer, the mangers and planters are watered on a rota basis and plant food added weekly.  A rain fed source of water is provided from several water butts around the village.  We have maintenance plans for the Wildlife Garden and the Bee and Butterfly Bed, and the mini-hay meadow is scythed at the end of the summer by a volunteer.

We strive to keep plants in our displays healthy and looking their best.  If plants are not thriving despite our best efforts we seek advice and take appropriate action.
