Mini-Haymeadow

The Mini-Haymeadow was created to support pollinating insects, as well as other wildlife.  It contains wild flowers native to meadows in Bowland including Yellow Rattle, Ox-eye Daisy, Eyebright, Knapweed, Self Heal and Red Clover.  At the end of the summer the meadow is scythed, dried and cuttings removed.  Plug plants and seeds are then planted to add more variety.

The meadow was developed with the support of the ‘Haytime Project’ and ‘Wildflowers for the Meadows Project’, Forest of Bowland AONB.

A video of plug planting in this meadow can be seen at http://forestofbowland.com/Wildflowers.Meadows
