Chipping in Bloom joins in local community events in the village, or organise our own to celebrate national themes.
Sponsor a Sunflower
The ‘Sponsor a Sunflower’ project in aid of Ukraine was launched at our coffee morning in April 2022.
The care and maintenance of the sunflowers planted around the village has been taken on by a local Duke of Edinburgh student.
Christmas Tree Festival
Chipping in Bloom supports St Bartholomew's Church by creating an 'In Bloom' gardening themed Christmas tree. Here is our 'tree' from December 2023.
Jubilee Joy
In 2022, our community planting theme invited people to use red, white and blue in their displays to spread some ‘Jubilee Joy! This linked with the celebrations arranged by the Parish Council which included unveiling of the ‘Jubilee Stone’, a ‘Decorate your House’ competition, and a community picnic where ‘Chipping in Bloom’ provided activities for the children.
Boots in Bloom
The summer after the first Covid lockdown in 2020, Chipping Bloom encouraged the village to put their boots on, get outside and go for a walk
